I am a scientist at the University of Oxford with over 15 years of research experience in neurodegenerative diseases and biomarker discovery. My expertise lies in studying extracellular vesicles (EVs) and their role in diseases like Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, and multiple system atrophy, using cutting-edge techniques such as dSTORM imaging, mass spectrometry, and liquid biopsy-based approaches. I specialize in isolating EVs from complex biological samples, characterizing their molecular cargo, and identifying disease-specific markers. My research focuses on understanding how misfolded proteins, like alpha-synuclein and tau, are transported via EVs, providing insights into early diagnosis and stratification of neurodegenerative disorders. I have a strong background in developing novel protocols for EV analysis, including surface marker profiling, protein localization studies, and glycine/proteinase K-based assays to determine intra- or extracellular protein positioning. My interdisciplinary collaborations across India, South Korea, the UK, and the USA have honed my ability to tackle complex research problems and deliver innovative solutions. I am passionate about translating basic research into clinically relevant applications, particularly liquid biopsies for early disease detection. Additionally, I have experience mentoring students, designing experiments, and providing technical and strategic consultation for both academic and industrial projects.
