Profile Summary

I am Sounderya Nagarajan, a researcher with 10 years of post-PhD experience at the interface of materials and life sciences of which 4 years is in an industry setting. I have a PhD in Bioengineering from the National University of Singapore and a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from India. I have spent last 4 years at a connected objects company in their R&D team wherein I worked on assay development and validation for diagnostic applications and have identified potential partners both academic and industrial and established contacts and coordinated projects. During these years I have also worked with members from interdisciplinary teams and have 4 patents 2 accepted and 2 under evaluation. I also was the laboratory manager since 2021 and managed resources and space for a team of 6 and across other team members. I have experience with project management and coordination in both academic and industry settings and am adept at building relationships. I have successfully secured two EU fundings one being a Marie Sklodowska Curie fellowship during my postdoctoral years and am trained to write EU grants. I am certified in co-facilitating dialogues to build cohesive teams to communicate across differences and I attend practice sessions for non-violent communication online.
