Profile Summary

Dr. Ebru Emsen is a full professor since 2011 and founder partner of R&D company since 2008. ER-GEN BIOTECHNOLOGIES placed Technology Development Zone at Teknopol Istanbul . The company purpose is to generate technological knowledge, to introduce innovations in products and production methods, to raise the quality and standard of products, to increase productivity, to lower costs, and to commercialize technological knowledge in farm animals. Dr Emsen has been specialized in assisted reproductive technologies in small ruminants. She and her team maintained a crossbreeding, selection and breeding program on over 50.000 sheep and goats in seven agricultural region in Turkey for the past 26 years. Her R&D projects focused on creating synthetic dam line for commercial lamb production. Anarom synthetic dam line has been developed in 2009 in her leaderships. She will be the domain expert of defining problems in the area of animal welfare, controlling reproduction, feeding protocols for enriching nutrition properties of lamb meat, setting objectives and priorities for efficient lamb production, and identifying solutions to key problems. Dr. Emsen joins national, regional and global networks for enriching valuable know-how to be used to strengthen this project. She leaded 5 innovations developed in iSAGE (www.isage.eu) project funded by Horizon 2020.
